Katy Perry was born on October 25, 1984, in Santa Barbara, CA. When growing up, she was the daughter of parents who were both pastors. So she grew up in a very religious household. She was not allowed to listen to certain music because they believed it was bad for her.

While being in the spotlight as Katy Hudson, she began to notice and listen to other artists of different genres. Katy Hudson changed her name to Katy Perry because she believed that she could get it easily confused with the actress Kate Hudson. Katy changed her last name to “Perry” from “Hudson”, because her mother’s maiden name is Perry.

Teenage Dream was written because it tells of someone older falling in love and the love of their life is making them feel like they’re a teenager in love all over again.

This song was one of thee biggest hits that either one of them ever had. They also have a part. 2 to this song. Most people such as myself think that part 1. of  "Love the Way You Are" is the best out of the two.

The song “Cooler Than Me” was released in April and by the time June came around it was a hit not only in the US, but also in Australia, Ireland, and Canada.

Mike Posner, his birth name Michael Posner, was born in Michigan.

The song "Cooler Than Me" came about because in college at Duke University, Mike fell for a girl. She snubbed him and thought she was better than him. Hence the lyrics,

He made the right decision in writing this story about the girl who treated him wrong, but he won't tell who the girl is because he doesn't feel like she has the right to be actually have her name out there, to make her head bigger than what it must already be.
