Top music artist for June 1, 2010 is Mike Posner with “Cooler Than Me”.

The song “Cooler Than Me” was released in April and by the time June came around it was a hit not only in the US, but also in Australia, Ireland, and Canada.

Mike Posner, his birth name Michael Posner, was born in Michigan.

The song "Cooler Than Me" came about because in college at Duke University, Mike fell for a girl. She snubbed him and thought she was better than him. Hence the lyrics,

“You got designer shades just to hide your face and

You wear them around like you’re cooler than me

And you never say “Hey” or remember my name

And it’s probably ‘cause you think your cooler than me”

He made the right decision in writing this story about the girl who treated him wrong, but he won't tell who the girl is because he doesn't feel like she has the right to be actually have her name out there, to make her head bigger than what it must already be.

Mike Posner is a very good artist and am sure that he has many more amazing songs to come.

Lady Gaga and The Red One made Alejandro the biggest song throughout the nation. They had many live performances; they also had many different versions of this song. Every new version of the same they came up with, made the song even better to listen to.

Usher and will.i.am wrote and produced “OMG”.

Rihanna was the top artist for March 2, 2010 with her song "Rude Boy". This song was also a top hit in the UK, Australia, and France.

Rihanna Fenty was born on February 20, 1988 in the Caribbean island, in Saint Michael, Barbados, to Monica and Ronald Fenty. She began singing at around the age of seven and was discovered by producer Evan Rogers (known for work with Christina Aguilera, *NSYNC, Jessica Simpson, and others) when he and his wife were visiting the island. Her amazing talent impressed Def Jam Records CEO Jay-Z for the label to sign her to a 6 album contract at the young age of 16. She then moved to the United States at the age of 16 and thus started her music career.

The top artist for February 16, 2010 was Jason Derulo, with his self-titled song “In My Head”. His birth name is Jason Joel Desrouleaux sux, but he uses a stage name, which he is better recognized by. He is a singer, writer, dancer, and he is also an actor.

Derulo was born in Florida to his parents, he is Haitian. He started his career when he was five. At the age of 12 he met his future manager, who was at the time a law student who was helping him with his basketball techniques. He studied opera, ballet, and theater; he went to school at the Dillard Center for arts in Florida at Fort Lauderdale where he grew up.  He graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York.
